CPCT Typing Practice — Mangal (Unicode) Hindi

What is CPCT?

CPCT stands for the Computer Proficiency Certification Test, conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Agency for Promotion of Information Technology (MAP_IT) for the Government of Madhya Pradesh. It certifies computer proficiency and typing skill for many MP government roles, and the Hindi typing section is taken in real Unicode Devanagari (Mangal) — not the legacy KrutiDev font.

Mangal (Unicode) vs KrutiDev — why it matters

Many typing sites only offer KrutiDev practice, where you type ordinary ASCII on a Remington keyboard and a special font shows Devanagari. CPCT is different: you type real Unicode Devanagari using your operating system's InScript keyboard. Preparing on KrutiDev leaves candidates mis-prepared for the actual key layout and encoding, so Typing Teacher practises CPCT the correct way — genuine Mangal Unicode on InScript.

How the mock works

• Type on your OS InScript keyboard: the passage is real Unicode Devanagari. Switch your keyboard to Hindi – InScript before you start (Windows: add "Hindi (India)" and switch with Win + Space; Android: enable the Hindi InScript keyboard).
• Exam-grade scoring: your result shows net WPM, accuracy, and every mistake counted by category — omission, substitution, addition, spelling and spacing.
• Correct Unicode grading: the passage and your typing are compared in a normalized Unicode form, so canonically-equivalent Devanagari is scored fairly.
• Certificate: export an exam-style result certificate as a PDF to track your progress.

Keyboard & setup

CPCT Hindi typing uses the InScript layout, the standard Indian-government Unicode Devanagari keyboard. This is different from Remington GAIL (used for KrutiDev-style tests) — choose InScript for CPCT.
